I have experienced another world. It is the world A Course in Miracles refers to as the Atonement and Jesus Christ referred to as the Kingdom of Heaven. I want to express that to the whole world.
My mission is born of my gratitude for what has been given me. Simply to give Jesus a hand in extending his message of love, healing, and forgiveness—as he expresses it in the New Testament and A Course In Miracles—to all the world.
Awakening

Lillian DeWaters
Lillian DeWaters was my wife’s grandmother. Lillian was a disciple of Mary Baker Eddy who is the founder of Christian Science. Lillian broke away from Christian Science and became a well-known author. She wrote over 60 different books that were translated into 14 different languages. She was well-known as a healer and as a Christian Science Practitioner. Lillian was famous for her teachings at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, where she had many students and clients.
Holy Spirit
She taught that you are spirit and only spirit, that God permeates everything and is available to everybody. You do not have to follow any particular teacher and in fact if you recognize that you are spirit, the spirit will automatically take over and guide you. She was referring here to the Holy Spirit. She believed that there was no particular pathway. And indeed, if you believed in a particular pathway, a mode of teaching, or a religion, you were basically denying the Holy Spirit. If you felt you had to follow certain steps your mind was set on following steps and on achieving the next level. Then above the current level there would always be another level. As a result you would never actually reach the Holy Ideal, the Holy Spirit, the holy experience of love, joy, peace, and that you know everything.
Love, Joy, and Peace
Even though I was not a spiritual person, at the time, I immediately recognized in her something different. In her presence I had an incredible sense of peace and understanding, as well as an immense sense of joy and love. This went in the face of my training at the time, because being in the military, these were not characteristics at the forefront of my mind. But in the 4 or 5 times I met her I always received total peace, love, understanding, and acceptance from her.
After she passed away, I came home on a leave of absence from the military. We broke up her house, to sell it. And When I entered the house I had this incredible feeling that I was in the presence of Lillian and in the actual presence of God. I went up into the attic, and there were hundreds of manuscripts; thoughts and ideas she had put down. And to my embarrassment today, when I asked the family what I was to do with these manuscripts, they told me: “just put them in barrels and take ‘em to the dump”, which is one of the great regrets of my life. In the attic we found a letter from the Russian Tsarist ambassador to the United States. He was thanking Lillian for interceding on behalf of the Tsarevich of Russia and the healing from his hemophilia. We also found interesting photos. We saw photos of her sitting in her garden. She would be sitting on the left, on the right there would be another person, and in the middle there was a blank, but it was obvious to me that there was another person there, Jesus or the Holy Spirit. We found many letters from many, many people, thanking her for her healing, her teaching, the love she extended, and that incredible peace she expressed.
Message of Love
Later on I became aware of her work and her many writings. My wife inherited Lillian’s publishing company from her mother who had inherited it from Lillian herself. Because the books were published in 14 languages, including Swahili and Russian, we would receive telephone calls from all over the world. My wife, who had read the books herself, answered the questions. I was greatly appreciative to Lillian for her writings and that these writings had affected the lives of so many people. That had always impressed me. She had gone through the trouble to write these books, publish them, and to express her message of love, joy, and peace throughout the world.

Master Teacher
Master Teacher, whose name was Charles Anderson, was a businessman. He had a major problem with alcohol. He completed the 12 steps and then throughout his whole life guided and sponsored people who were dealing with alcoholism. He was well-known for never giving up on anybody. People would ask him to be their sponsor, even when they would revert to drugs or alcohol again. He would always give them another chance when they came back to him and he would tell them ok let’s start over again.
Love, Joy, and Peace
On July 4, 1979, he had an incredible experience. He had an experience of total love, joy, peace. He knew everything. He knew this world was not real and that there was another world that Jesus referred to as the Kingdom of Heaven. It was not a place, but a state of mind, and an experience. Right around that time someone handed him a copy of A Course in Miracles and after reading it he realized that if the Course had not been written already he would have had to write it himself. He had lived in the suburbs of Chicago until then and decided to return to his native Wisconsin where a friend bought him a farmhouse. He started to teach and people started to show up.
Endeavor Academy
Along the line I showed up. Until then I was leading the life of a businessman and had experienced nothing but the fear and hatred of life. And it’s not what one might expect. I had joined a church that taught A Course in Miracles. One day, after a year, the minister came to me and said, “I am coming up to Endeavor Academy, would you take over the church? As he left for Endeavor Academy, I took over the church. And then when he returned, I said well, I’ve got some time, I’d love to come up, to Endeavor Academy. So I came up and I made a commitment for one month.
For the first 3 weeks, I hovered in the back of the room. Finally, I had the courage to come up to the front. And that’s exactly what he said: “Ah, you finally had the courage to come up and be with me.” Then he immediately demolished me. He referred to me as an asshole, a dummy, and he did that many, many times. So when I left the academy, after the 30 days, I had absolutely no intention of coming back. But when I went back to the world and to my business I found absolutely nothing to hold any interest for me. I had lost interest in my business. I had even lost interest in playing poker. And I used to love playing poker. This was in Dallas Texas. My nickname was the hammer because of my mode of play. Anyway, I called up the Academy and realized that indeed I was a dummy and an asshole, and that I didn’t like the life I was leading anymore. So I came up. Throughout the whole period, I have been there with him, he kept on me. He always told me I was a dummy, that I was not dedicated enough, that I was not focused on the Course and his teachings enough. But I knew that he loved me and I knew that he wanted me to have the experience that I eventually did have.
Awakening
Then about 4 years ago, I was standing in the back of the room, he looked right at me and I knew he was talking to me, and he said: “It is about time”. Then on a Sunday three days later, I went to church, came home, turned on the football game, turned it off again, laid down, and then I had this incredible experience of awakening. I experienced total love, total joy, total peace, and I had absolutely no body sensation. I was not a body. All I wanted to do was give and extend love and I knew everything. I realized that the world I was living in is not real, and the only thing real is the peace of God.
Kingdom of Heaven
I knew that he indeed did not come from this world. He knew of the other world Jesus had referred to as the Kingdom of Heaven. I knew that he knew. I was impressed by the fact that every day he could get up and teach. He would go throughout the whole world, where and when ever there was an invitation, and teach. He was totally dedicated to A Course in Miracles and he was totally dedicated to God. He recognized the absolute insanity of this world. That it was a dream, and that it was an incredibly sick dream. He never was general in his teaching. He was always confrontative to me, as well as to all the other students at the academy. Beneath it was love. After he had put his correction in he always made a point of reassuring you that he knew who you really were, that you were the total absolute spirit and that he was with you.

A Course in Miracles
December 27, 2010A Better Way
A Course in Miracles was dictated and scribed in the 1960’s at Colombia University Medical School. It involved two people, Helen Schucman and her boss Bill. Nothing was working in the department that Bill headed up. One day he said to Helen: “There has to be a better way” and a few weeks later Helen started to hear a voice, and the voice told her “take this down”. It was an incredible miracle that she took down this voice for over 8 years. The voice identified himself as Jesus and when Helen received the voice, Bill transcribed it. After they had finished it, they put it in the drawer. They didn’t know what to do with it. Since they were both PhD’s in experimental psychology they knew that if their professional colleagues were to find out they were listening to the voice of Jesus, their reputations would suffer. Eventually they came across a group of people that encouraged them to publish it, and so the book was published and that is how we have it today.
The Course
“The Course”, nickname for A Course in Miracles, is divided in three sections. At one time printed as three separate books, all three are now included in one book. The first is the Text, of basically 31 chapters. It describes how the mind works, it describes the path to transform your mind, and it describes where the Holy Spirit will take over for you. The second part is the workbook, it consists of 365 lessons. The first half of these lessons is about the undoing of your mind. The second half is indoctrinating your mind into reestablishing your contact with God. The third part, the Teacher’s Handbook, is about practicing the Course, becoming a teacher of God, and taking it out into the world.
Give and Receive
If I compare my life now, with the life I had before I met Master Teacher and A Course in Miracles, I can tell you this. The ego always seems to be there. It is defined by the world I created separate from God. Things of the world come up. I need this or I need that. Thinking my life would be happier if I had this or if I had that. The teaching has given me the awareness that this is all phony, that these things are not real. And so whatever comes up I immediately disregard. It is part of my old dream and one I no longer want. My life more and more becomes a life of giving. Just giving away of myself and that includes total acceptance of anybody and everybody. If I find myself angry at what I see in the world, I have to recognize it is not real, that this world is a dream. The dream Shakespeare talks about. When I am an ego, I am a walking shadow. These things come up and I just drop ‘em. Sometimes they linger longer than I want and I just say this is not real. But I do still have the urge to go out and teach. And that’s the whole reason for this website. I am available to go anywhere at any time and teach.

One of the major canons of the Course is that to give and receive are one and the same. So I decided to become a teacher of God because when I taught I ended up teaching myself. So I went out into the world and initially went to Mexico, then to other parts of the world; Europe, South America, Latin America, and Asia.
Prison Ministry
I got involved in teaching through the prison ministry when I met a woman in Mexico; Mercedes Heredia. She had been one of the original students of the Course in Mexico. Jesus spoke to her and his message to her was: “take the Course out to the darkest spot in the world”. In her mind no spot was darker then the prisons of Mexico. One miracle after another she got permission to teach in the prisons. Eventually the Mexican governor became a great sponsor of her work in the prisons because the recidivism rate of the prisoners who were attending her classes was almost zero.
A Course in Miracles, New Testament, and
12-Steps.
The message was so strong that most prisons not only have programs for the inmates, but for the guards and administrators as well. In one of the most secure prisons in Mexico there are 3 classes a week simply for the guards and administrative personnel. Today she continues to teach and has been invited by the Mexican Army. Once a year, she teaches the cadets at the military academy and she gives two classes for the generals and the generals’ wives. A lot of what she did down there, we have done up here at the endeavor academy. The program we have is called “A Way Out”. It combines A Course in Miracles, the New Testament, and the 12-steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. We take “A Way Out” to prisons throughout the world and the results are remarkable.
Teachings of Jesus
When I teach, especially after I’ve taught, whether in the prisons or in the Miracle Center in Mexico where we teach every day of the week, I experience absolute love, joy, and peace. The whole idea of giving away the teachings of Jesus, which I know to be the truth, gives me a feeling of fulfilled commitment. And with the teachings of Jesus I mean not only his teachings through A Course in Miracles, but also through the Sermon on the Mount of the New Testament, which is the absolute unadulterated expression of the teachings of Jesus. So when you ask me what I teach, I teach A Course in Miracles and I teach the Sermon on the Mount.
I carried a lot of the teaching over to others, to younger people. I continue to teach here in Wisconsin while other brothers have stepped up. And so I go now and then, when they can’t go. I am looking for new venues.
